ESL Pro League Fantasy s20

The ESL Pro League Season 20 in Counter-Strike 2 is upon us, and it’s time to gear up for another thrilling fantasy league!

Format

This tournament brings a fresh structure that demands new strategies:

Group Stage:

• Four triple-elimination format groups
• Each group has eight teams
• All matches are Best of Three (Bo3)
• The top four teams from each group advance to the Playoffs:
  • Group stage winners advance to the Quarterfinals
  • Runners-up advance to the Round of 12 as High Seeds
  • 3rd place teams advance to the Round of 16 as High Seeds
  • 4th place teams advance to the Round of 16 as Low Seeds

Playoffs:

• Single-Elimination bracket
• All matches (excluding Grand Final) are Bo3
• The Grand Final is Best of Five (Bo5)

This format offers continuous excitement and unique strategic opportunities. Remember, the last chance matches won’t count in this fantasy league, so focus your picks accordingly.

Point Padding Structure

The point padding system will be slightly adjusted for the ESL Pro League. For each group stage and playoff round:

• Group Stage Point Padding:
  • Teams advancing directly to the Upper bracket final will receive 1 round of average point padding.
    • Group A and B: 6th of Sep
    • Group C and D: 13th of Sep
• Playoffs Point Padding:
  • Teams that won their group and placed 2nd, will recieve statis point padding. (+6 points)
    • 1st and 2nd place: 17th of Sep
    • 1st place: 18th of Sep

Scoring System & Phases

The scoring system remains largely the same as in IEM Cologne, ensuring consistency for returning players:

• Kills: (Total / number of rounds) x 10
• Assists: (Total / number of rounds) x 6
• Deaths: (Total / number of rounds) x -4
• KD-rating: 0-4 points
  • 0.8< = 1 point
  • 1< = 2 points
  • 1.25< = 3 points
  • 1.5< = 4 points
• Winning a match series: 2 points
• Losing a match series: 0 points

Captain Feature

As always, selecting the right Captain is crucial:

• Captain = 1.5x bonus points
  • Be strategic with your Captain swaps, especially in a triple-elimination format where a team’s fortune can change rapidly.

Sell Tokens

Use Sell Tokens during the Edit Phase to sell and buy new players. Refunds are at the original purchase price, and points from sold players remain in your score. Note the max 2 per team limitation.
